Central Cemetery

When Vienna grew into a city of more than one million inhabitants, the old cemeteries of the various districts became to small. To accommodate the growing capital, the Central Cemetery, with an area of about 495 acres, was opened in 1874.

House of Music

In the musical adventure world in the heart of the city, music can be experienced with all of the senses. Giant instruments, computers and state-of-the-art electronics are great for playing, experimenting and discovering.

House of the Sea - Aquarium

This aquarium, containing more than 3,000 live marine organisms, was established on private initiative as an instructional display.

Imperial Palace - Hofburg

For more than seven centuries, the great empire of the Habsburgs was ruled from the Imperial Palace. Today, the Gothic Imperial Chapel, where the Vienna Boys’ Choir performs during High Mass on Sunday, is a remnant of the Imperial Palace during the Middle Ages.
